Beautiful Weather!

Oh goodness! Something new has happened to me! I've been affected by the weather!

As soon as the sun came out for this past weekend I exploded into a violent tornado of joy and wit! It's amazing! I think I was so witty I offended people! Isn't that nifty? Anyways, I just wanted to tell all of you something. If you know me, or think you know me, or I know you... I LOVE YOU!

But seriously. There's nothing more important to me than you guys. All of you. I want to thank you, be you a friend, or an enemy, for being part of this wonderful thing called life.

To those of you who've made me laugh, thanks for helping me find the joy in the simple and complex and appropriate and vulgar. You guys make a man feel like he can relax and be himself.

To those of you who've made me cry, thanks for helping develop me into the person I am today. I couldn't have gotten there without all the poop you made me go through. I promise I don't hate you, let's be friends.

To those of you who've made me angry...well, congrats, 'cause that doesn't happen often. You're probably a really big jerk. I love you too. Let's go and be mean together sometime. It can be a learning experience for both of us!

Anyways, peace out friends. I love you all SO MUCH!

Other people!

Let's ALL start blogging. I think it's extremely healthy to think. And if from those thoughts we get a piece of art (a blog) then by all means, I want people to express that art! Lots of people are starting up blogs and I love it! So, everyone should check out my friends blogs, because they have just as much to say as I do, probably more.

First, Wesley's http://suchasathought.blogspot.com/

Wonderful person, with strong opinions and the nerve to express them and will always be consistent with his beliefs. Careful if you disagree openly with him, he usually knows what he's talking about and he'll debate your sorry butt into the floor. =D

Kris! http://himynameiskris.blogspot.com/

Just started it the other day I believe. More of a journal of his life, but dang, it's a pretty interesting life. Check it out brotha's, he's got stories to tell.

Molly has a blog http://mollyjeannesodyssey.blogspot.com/

Doesn't post often enough. Seriously, I love what she's put out so far, it's relevant, funny, and focused, all things I enjoy and try my best to emulate. Keep it up girl!

Anyways, I have to go to school now, but I think I'm going to the Firehouse this afternoon. I love the Firehouse gallery. Everyone should also go every month because they always change their exhibits. Right now they have this wonderful balloon animal abstract thing. It looks cool, but I haven't checked it out yet. But we all should. It's right across from Red Square? Maybe. I'm bad with locations. But if you're at Nectar's/Muddy Water's/Old Gold, walk towards church street then take a left. The Firehouse will be the first brick building on your left after you get onto church street. See ya there.

AHHA!

Friends! Romans! Lend me your ears!

What's up guys, it's been awhile. I really haven't been home except to eat, sleep, and shower. It's intense, I know.

Anyways, I've had so much I would have liked to blog about, but right now, I'm going to say something that will make you angry. Why? Because I don't give a rat's whiskers whether or not you get angry. Point is, I have a question, and I would like to get an answer. It's a question none of us want to ask, but a valid question.

If a man and a woman is normal, but now a man and a man are getting to be normal, what's stopping a man and a dog from getting married?

If you say that it's because there's no love, then please, let's define love. I'd say a good definition of love is someone caring about another so much they would die for them. Is that a good definition? Well, I've certainly heard of dogs sacrificing their lives for their owners, and we already know humans are capable of love.

Is it because there's a language barrier? Love conquers all, and everyone shows their love differently.

It seems to me the only difference is what is accepted by our society. Please, continue this discussion in the comments section. Leave your name by going to the drop-down things and clicking the right one. Then type in your name.

WHAT DO YOU THINK VT!?

Open Mic Fun

Open Mic last night!

So much fun. I always enjoy a good open mic. Actually, I live for them. They're so much fun. Anyways, thanks to all the people that came out, and to you people that didn't...bad call. Come next time.

It was much more professional this time. We had like time slots and whatever. But, as usual, nobody wanted to play so it was just me and friends jamming it up. Someday we'll have an open mic full of people wanting to play, read a poem, dance, or do anything. Could it perhaps be you?

Jim Douglass and Respect.

Now is a turning point in Vermont. For those of you that are politically sterile, allow me to extrapolate a bit for you. Marriage is now sanctioned by the government for homosexuals in Vermont. We're the fourth state to legalize it and the first to do it in legislation. Now, VT voted YES! And Jim Douglass said, "No." He vetoed the bill. Well, we overturned that veto, but that's not the important point.

Lots of people are hating on Jim right now.  Is it justified? I suppose if you're fighting ignorance and bigotry then Jim is probably your worst enemy right now...But I ask you to calm down. Now, I'm not saying I'm against gay marriage; I believe in love, and I believe that I do not have the right to say how people honor that love. I think the choice to marry is a valid choice to have.

Back to the subject. Since all y'all hate Mr. Douglass right now because he's "bigoted", let's take a step back and examine things from a different perspective. People see politics, but Politics also see the people. Jim knew that vetoing that bill would be an unpopular decision, but he did it anyways. Why? Because he believes in something. He believes in something so strongly that he's willing to place his job and reputation on the line for it. I, for one, respect that a lot. It's never easy to go against the flow.

Anways, those of you who call him "small-minded", open your minds. See things from his perspective and realize that this man who's openly contradicting a popular opinion has balls! If you all are supporting love between man and man, and woman and woman, show some love yourself. What happens when the fireman carries gasoline on him? If we're going to place the blame, let's make sure we're blameless.

Jim Douglass, I don't agree with you, but I respect your beliefs, and I respect your willingness to support those beliefs.

People, show love to everyone. Just trust me on that one.

I wish.

Dear Jesus,

Please make my hair not blossom into a fro. I spend good money to get it cut and then it looks good for a little bit. But then it explodes.

I know you can do better.

, Your Favorite Person
Zak Jenkins

But seriously. I don't know why my hair is so...BANG! I wish it weren't. And I can never get it too look right. Grrr. It's annoying. Anyways. I'm going to get a hair cut soon. Once I get the money together I suppose. Unless anyone wants to cut it and make it look nice. For free. =D

I want to do a well job.

I have a new plan. A wonderful plan to balance out the world. Things are better when they're balanced! Checkbooks...Gymnasts...Breakfasts... Y'know.

Anways, I'm going to balance out America's bad grammar. Not by using proper grammar, because that's not enough. I need to go above and beyond! I'm going to use Anti-Well Grammar.

Anti-Well Grammar is simple really. Think of a word people abuse. For example, the word "good". You don't run good....you run well.  So, to counteract this atrocity. I'm going to substitute "well" into a situation that merits a "good".  I am well at writing. And there we go. I'm not using proper grammar, but rather, canceling out everyone else's improper grammar.

You know what they say about grammar... No Grammar is Well Grammar.

Irony

Short post, just stopped by the house to have a quick chat with my mums, and thought I'd post a little bit.

Anyways, I want to change my blog's name to something funnier and with more irony. Preferably with a Pun.

So expect new things, and don't hate me for not having much to say today.

Writer's Block

Uh Oh.

I have writer's block. What is that? I think it just means I have nothing to write about. But the whole "block" thing implies that we as writers always have things to write, they're just temporarily blocked. I disagree. I believe that as humans, we have our uncreative moments. Nothing's being "blocked." Face it, sometimes, we're just plain boring. So what do we do when we find ourselves spewing mediocre nonsense?

I think we should just spew it out. Quality stems from consistency. So even when you're writing bad, I think you should keep on writing.

For example. This Post is Bad.

My Odor.

So, me being the absent minded individual we all are at times, today I stepped into the shower and after getting out, realized that I had left my deodorant downstairs in my room. Now, understand, I'm a man well prepared, and I do keep a spare "emergency" deodorant in my bathroom...but it smells like baby powder. And after I put it on, I, too smelled like a baby butt. Score. In order to remedy this dire situation, I ran down to my room after dressing myself and applied a thick layer of my usual, good smelling deodorant. Guess, what? I still smelled like infant glutes. This made me think.

Bad stuff happens in life, sometimes it's really bad stuff, and other times it's just kinda annoying, but bad stuff happens. Good things happen too. Don't try to argue that. BUT! Why do we always focus on the bad things? No matter how much good-smelling deodorant I put on, I still smell that nasty smell underneath. When we're feeling down, no matter how many good things happen to us, we still dwell on the thing that made us feel sad. Some would argue that we're a hedonistic race, a race devoted to pleasure. I would argue that ,instead, we are a masochistic society. We dwell on all the bad things, and even inflate our small problems so that they can cause us even more disrest. WHY? Human nature? Not a good enough answer.

Why can't we let the happy events stick? Why do the bad events pursue us through all our good experiences? Why does my armpit still smell like fresh diaper?

April Fools

I was thinking about writing a facetious post today, considering it's April Fools...but I'm pretty facetious normally...so I decided not to. Here follows a completely serious rant.

Consistency is, in my opinion, the most important trait a person can have. I don't care if you're rich on Friday, or funny and cute and kind from 1pm to 3pm on B days. I want you to be you 24/7/365.

And yes, I know I'm hypocritical. I don't post every day...but I try to. I want to be a better writer, and practice makes perfect. So I gotta be consistent. In everything

However! If I were the same all the time, I'd get really bored.

OH NO! A dilemma. If I must be consistent, but I wants to be spontaneous and fluctuate rapidly, then who the heck is I and what in the world could I want?
